“For Yahweh’s eyes run back and fourth throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.” 2 Chr 16:9
The Bible explains of one person chosen by God who turned away from hearing the voice of God from a true prophet; and God therefore decreed “You have done foolishly in this; for from now on you will have wars.” 2 Chr. 16:9
The lesson is: “listen diligently” and “hear” the voice of the Lord that you may live, thrive and prosper”.
How do we hear God today; listen for the still small voice in your heart? Yes!
Yes, from reading the Bible. Yes, “From the mouths of children” Psalm 8:2 Yes
Yes, Yes & Yes, Listen through your wife, husband, Pastor, child or even a Donkey. The talking donkey is found in Numbers 22:28.
We in Christ are “the children of God”. Rom 9:8
Additionaly, the Lord our God has chosen us to be His possession because “the Lord loved you” He has chosen to love you. Deut. 7:8 Not because of personality or talent gifts, looks or favor in business that we might have.
But more specifically because we worship a God of the heart, the eyes of our God looks throughout the whole earth for him and her whose heart is perfect toward Him.” (see, you are hearing God through me right now in the words I write!)
How do we get a perfect heart of love?
I suspect by God tossing-out all the other worldly things that occupy space within it.
I always said to others: “When you fall in love, save some of your heart for yourself for when it gets broken!”
Is your “heart space” really a philosophical math problem? No, and I was wrong to say that.
But here is the real-deal. God desires your total heart Matt 22:37 and the truth is, when God breaks it, and He will break it! Your heart, you won’t have any left-over for yourself!
The reason for this is simple, because sin entered the world and our heart holds many hidden dark chambers within it. Yes, good is found in the human heart but also evil. Often, more love can seemingly be found in the heart of a loving dog than a man or woman.
The Bible tells us because of sin: “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Jer 17:9
By Jesus, in His joy, He is faithful, and He "keeps covenant and steadjast love with those who love him and keep his commandments" (Deut. 7:9).
Now the Gospel truth; the tough love of Redemption: God often sovereignly (by His permission) uses the hostile actions of the world to fulfill a Bible prophecy (promise). More specifically, God often providentially (by His will) uses the hostile actions of another person(s) to fulfill your destiny. That is, if you have given your heart to Him. In other words, what purpose(s) he created you to fulfill.
By the great price that He has paid on the cross (Matt. 13:45-46). In His joy, He has redeemed us by His cross and gathered us into His kingdom by the Gospel.
Now we are "hidden in a field," covered by the cross and subject to the persecution (being picked-on) by the earthlings of the world (Matt. 13:44).
Those personal persecutions and even trials and tribulations? Well, they are what allow for God to toss-out, those dark and evil chambers of our heart and thus replacing that heart space with His love.
He does this by using a spiritual principle found in Gen. 50:20; “where Joseph tells his brothers, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good…”
Salvation is a process, not for the faint-of-heart and not for our destruction, but "to be conformed (made) to the image of Jesus" (Rom. 8:29). …”work out your own salvation with fear and trembling .” Php 2:12
Since we "are called according to his purpose" (Rom. 8:28), and because Christ Jesus died, rose again and lives to intercede for us "at the right hand of God" (Rom. 8:34), there is nothing in all creation that can separate us from "the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Rom. 8:39). Not even the hidden chambers of your heart.
To sum it up: “The eyes of YHWH looks throughout the whole earth for him and her whose heart is perfect toward Him.”
